MANSIÓN DEL PATRÓN.
Staying at la Mansión del Patrón is a unique pleasure; we can offer you your choice of: 1 “Troje” (an old-fashioned storage/living construction unique to the lake area), 2 Country houses and 7 fully equipped cabins.
From a nearby terrace that belongs to the compound you can enjoy a grand view of Lake Patzcuaro, Janitzio Island, and enjoy a wonderful sunset.
Your stay on the premises will be totally enjoyable due to its natural atmosphere, surrounded by a large variety of fruit trees and beautiful gardens.
We appreciate not smoking at the cabins and a deposit prior to your arrival is required; our check in time is at 2 pm and check out time is at 12 pm. We are pet friendly. Its location and the way it was built and set is characteristic of the architecture of the lake region, situated on a very quiet zone, less than 10 minutes away from the historic center of town and very close to the old train station and to the Main Pier and at only 15 minutes away from Zirahuen Lake.
The property has a long standing history of having been a family retreat for holidays and vacations, with frequent fiestas, sports events, weddings, country meals and religious festivities; all very traditional and supportive of family and friendly values, respecting and enjoying the many fruit trees, different flowers and diverse vegetation and its many birds and other wild creatures and with old stories and legends lingering in the air, including the ghost of the old water well. The frontennis court, built on the premises in 1946, was the first ever in town and is unique in the country for its construction with volcanic rocks, extracted from the selfsame grounds, accounts for the unique response and bounce of its front wall.
There are a number of different buildings, representative of the Mexican architecture of this particular area, keeping its original style and family atmosphere.
